Getting Started

Welcome Guide to the Virtual Classroom

Follow these steps to start your training smoothly: check the requirements for your device, log in for the first time, discover what you will find, and learn your way around your Dashboard.

1. Check your device

Tap an icon to see its requirements

You can access the Virtual Classroom from a computer, phone or tablet. Tap your case to see the requirements so that your progress and activities are saved correctly.

👆 Tap "Computer" or "Phone / Tablet" to see the relevant requirements.

💻 Computer
  • Use an up-to-date browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
  • You need a stable internet connection so your progress is saved properly.
  • Recommended minimum screen resolution: 1024x768.
  • Accept the permissions requested by your browser (cookies, notifications) the first time you log in: these are necessary for the platform to correctly track your training progress.
  • If an activity is not saving or the page looks wrong: switch browsers or clear the cache and cookies of the one you are using.
📱 Phone / Tablet
  • Use the same username and password as on the computer.
  • We recommend downloading the Moodle App for a better experience.
  • Connect preferably via wifi: an unstable mobile data connection may cause an activity's progress to be lost.
  • Accept the permissions and notifications requested by the App: these are necessary for your progress to sync and be correctly recorded.
  • Do not close the App or browser before the activity is marked as completed.
📲 How to install and use the Moodle App

2. Your first login

How to log in for the first time, step by step

1

Go to the website

Go to elearning.fundacionsjd.org from your browser, or open the Moodle App if you already have it installed.

2

Enter your details

Enter the username and password you received by email, and click "Log in".

🔑 Important: sent only once

For security reasons, your username and password are sent only once, to the email address linked to your profile. Keep them somewhere safe. If you did not receive that email or cannot find your password, don't worry: use the "Forgotten your password?" button on the login screen to reset it yourself.

3

Let the Tour guide you

The first time you log in from the browser (computer or mobile), a Tour will explain the key elements of the platform, and the first time you enter a course a Guided Tour will show you around it.
Note that this Tour is only available when browsing from the web browser; it is not available inside the Moodle App.

🚪 Always log out

When you finish, click on your name (top right) and select "Log out". This is very important if you use a shared computer at your centre or hospital.

3. Finding and Enrolling in Courses

How to find and access your training

Our Training Areas

Explore the catalogue from the home page or the navigation panel according to the category you need:

Culture and Values

History, mission and values of the Foundation. You will also find onboarding courses and basic safe working guidelines.

Patient Care and Treatment

Direct patient care, clinical protocols, patient safety and best practice in healthcare delivery.

Relationships, Humanisation and Support

Communication with patients and families, support in difficult situations and human-centred care.

Professional Skills and Development

Digital tools (ICT), work organisation, professional development and everyday practical skills.

In addition to these areas, we promote the Shared Mission project, a cross-cutting space where you can access resources on mission, values and institutional identity.

Types of course access

✅ Self-enrolment

If the course is open access, you will see the "Enrol me" button. Click it and you will be enrolled instantly to start studying.

🔑 By Reservation or Code

Some courses require an enrolment key. Enter the Enrolment key provided by your unit manager or the Training team after confirming your place.

🏢 Closed Course (Directed Groups)

For department-specific training, you do not need to do anything. The Administrator will enrol you directly and the course will appear in your dashboard on the start date with no prior action needed.

4. Your Dashboard

Where to find your alerts and your progress

From the "My courses" tab or the "Dashboard" page you have direct access to everything you need for your training.

📊

Your courses and progress

You will see a card for each course, including a progress bar (%) showing how much you have left to complete, and inside the course, a green tick on each block you have already completed.

Timeline

A list that alerts you to pending assignments or quizzes and their upcoming deadlines, so nothing slips through.

📅

Calendar and upcoming events

In the side panel you will find the Calendar with your training milestones, the Upcoming events block, and the Online users block to see which colleagues are connected.

🔔

Bell and messages

In the top right you will see two icons: the bell (notifications) and the speech bubble (private messaging) to write directly to your tutor. Tutors reply within a maximum of 24 hours.

👤

Check your profile

Click on your name to see Profile, Grades, Calendar and Messages. Make sure your first name, surname and email (@sjd.es) are correct, and that the time zone is Europe/Madrid: this ensures deadlines and quiz closing times match your real work schedule.
